METHODOLOGY

Lean Vectors rating methodology

Principle

Each solution is rated 1 to 5 across 40 sub-criteria grouped into 8 categories. The global score is a weighted average: the default weighting is set according to the strategic importance of each category, and remains customizable by the user directly in the comparator.

Sources

We systematically cross-reference several independent public sources:

  • Gartner Magic Quadrant
  • G2 Crowd
  • Gartner Peer Insights
  • TrustRadius
  • SelectHub
  • Public vendor documentation

No score relies on a single source. When sources diverge, the justification explicitly mentions the discrepancies.

5-step process

  1. Source research: identification of analysts and user platforms relevant to the category.
  2. Data collection: structured extraction by sub-criterion and solution.
  3. Cross-referencing: at least 3 independent sources.
  4. Scoring: 1-5 score and sourced justification.
  5. Review: senior consultant review for consistency across solutions.

Our independence commitment

Lean Vectors is not a license reseller. We receive no commission, no discount, no benefit from any evaluated vendor. This independence is the condition of our credibility. If a vendor challenges a score, we publish our justification and sources. If the challenge is founded, we correct. If not, the score stands.

Default weighting

The default weighting follows the distribution below (modifiable in each comparator via the "Weighting" panel):

  • Vision & strategy: 10% (3 sub-criteria)
  • Functional coverage: 30% (10 sub-criteria)
  • Technical architecture: 15% (6 sub-criteria)
  • Adoption & UX: 15% (6 sub-criteria)
  • Vendor robustness: 10% (4 sub-criteria)
  • Deployment: 5% (4 sub-criteria)
  • Legal framework: 5% (2 sub-criteria)
  • Pricing & TCO: 10% (5 sub-criteria)

User profiling

Before accessing the comparator, the user can answer 12 profiling questions (organization size, sector, complexity level, technical constraints). Answers automatically adjust the category weighting to reflect the context. Weighting remains manually editable at any time.

Transparency

Each score is accompanied by a textual justification citing the source. If information is missing or contestable, the justification explicitly mentions it. Comparators are updated at least once a year. No vendor pays to be listed or to improve their score.
